Tips for Quick and Easy Gift Wrapping

Christmas is here (well, in a few days). If you are like me and postpone wrapping to the very last minute, here are some tips to make your gift wrapping quick and easy this holiday season.

  • Know Your Wrapping Plan Before Starting. Choose one wrapping paper for all gifts OR dedicate one style of paper per person. If you have a large family, dedicating one style of wrapping paper to each person makes Christmas morning a bit easier when deciphering what gifts belong to each person. However, one style of paper makes things easy for stocking up, and if you like that monochromatic look under the tree this achieves that. Regardless of what you choose to do, have a plan!

  • Gather Supplies. Get your wrapping paper, scissors, tape, bows, ribbons, gift tags, and pen out and ready to go. Having everything you need in one place will streamline the wrapping process and prevent unnecessary delays.

  • Sort Gifts. If you have multiple gifts for people, group them together so you wrap all your son’s gifts at once, then proceed to your daughter’s gifts, etc. This makes labeling easier and eliminates confusion.

  • Choose Gift Bags. A time saving technique, gift bags are great for those hard to wrap gifts.

  • Invest in Quality Wrapping Paper. Thick, sturdy paper is easier to cut, fold, and tape, and less likely to tear. Plus quality wrapping paper typically has attractive prints and textures.

  • Embrace Minimalism. While extravagant embellishments are tempting and look beautiful on those Pinterest posts, sometimes less is more – solid color wrapping paper or paper with subtle patterns with a well placed bow can create a sophisticated look. And it saves time and money.

Most Importantly… Remember nothing needs to be perfect. It’s the thought that counts after all! Happy Wrapping!
